Estimated reading: 2 minutes 120 views

Learn how to manually connect to an existing Facebook event via custom RTMP with StreamWay.

StreamWay Events is a quick and easy way to schedule a stream on Facebook and other platforms simultaneously, but if you’ve already scheduled an event on Facebook, you will need to follow these steps to connect it to StreamWay.

Please note that all API-dependent features such as StreamWay Chat, Analytics, Events, Titles page, etc. won’t work if you connect Facebook manually to StreamWay.

Connect an existing Facebook Event to StreamWay

  1. Go to Facebook Live Producer.
  2. Click Scheduled broadcasts.
  3. Click Set up live video.
  4. Under Select a video source, click Streaming software.
  5. Copy the unique stream key for your event.
  6. Go to your StreamWay Dashboard and click Edit Destinations then Add Destination.
  7. Click Custom RTMP.
  8. Copy and paste rtmps://live-api-s.facebook.com:443/rtmp/ as your RTMP URL, paste the stream key you copied from Facebook, and click Add Channel.

  9. Start streaming from StreamWay, then go back to Facebook and click Go live now.
    • Want your stream to automatically start on Facebook instead? When setting up your live video on Facebook, toggle on Go live automatically at scheduled start time. Keep in mind this option will prevent you from starting the stream early.
